Camp sessions run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Ac tivities include swimming, fishing, group games, arts and crafts, nature study, walks and field trips. Participants will meet at the Brunswick Cotinty Government Center near Bolivia. Transportation will be provided for a variety of Field trips. The cost is S45 a week per child and includes a T-shirt for the first week of participation. Family discounts will apply when two or more children are enrolled m day camp. An additional charge will be assessed for field trips. A camp for children ages six to nine is scheduled July 27-31 and the last camp for children ages ten to 13 will.be August 3-7. Pre-registration is re quired. Swimming classes at Caswell Summer swimming programs will be offered for Brunswick County resi dents and visitors at the North Carolina Baptist Assembly pool, in coopera tion with the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department. The 45-minutc swimming lessons are taught on a daily schedule. Onc week sessions arc S25 a person. Classes are taught by American Red Cross instructors and lifeguard trainees. The schedule is as follows: July 13-17, July 20-24, July 27-31, August 3 7. Pre-registration is required one week before the classes begin. The following classes will be offered: 9 a.m. deep watcr/advanced swim mers; 10 a.m. shallow water/beginner swimmers; 11 a.m. non-swimmers, water babies and toddlers. Transportation will be provided from the Brunswick County Government Center at Bolivia to the Fort Caswell site during the week of July 20-24. A transportation fee of $5 will be charged in addition to the $25 lesson fee. The pool will be available for open swim from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Saturday. There is a $1.50 charge. Jazz dance lessons scheduled Jazz dance lessons will be offered Mondays, beginning July 13, and con tinued through August 10 at Bolivia Elementary School. The instructor will be Mary Beth Henderson of the Wilmington Dance Association. The 45-minute lessons begin at 10 a.m. in the school cafeteria. The cost is $22 a person. More information can be obtained by calling Emma T. McGraw at the county recreation department. Fishing festival for seniors The first seniors fishing festival will be held at Ocean Crest Pier on Thursday, July 16. The festival will get underway at 8:30 a.m. and continue until noon. Participants should check in by 8 a.m. Seniors should provide their own rods and reels and coolers to store their catch. Prizes will be awarded to the men and women with the largest, smallest and ugliest fish. More information on the fishing festival can be obtained by calling Tina Pritchard at the county parks and recreation department. Bahamas cruise is planned An eight-day, seven-night Wall Disney Bahamas cruise, January 18-25, 1993, is being planned by the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation De partment. The cost is $675 per person, based on double occupancy, and includes two nights in Orlando, admission to EPCOT, a reserved cabin on the ship, eight meals on the ship, three midnight buffets and bus transportation from Brunswick County. A non-rcfundable deposit of $100 is due by August 18. Final payment will be due by November 5. Checks should be made payable to Great American Vacations and mailed to Brunswick County Parks and Recrea tion, P. O. Box 249, Bolivia, NC 28422. West said she tried to pass on the idea that all humans have an innate ability to draw and that art should be fun.
